On 18 December a seminar for postgraduate and doctoral students was held with Ukrainian and Polish scholars to discuss the Dictionary of Words that Save Lives / Słownik wyrazów ratujących życie (edited by Michał Paluch) and prospects for further work in education and science under martial law in Ukraine. Representatives from the PNU EcoSystem Centre, namely Professor Olena Budnyk and Associate Professor Kateryna Fomin, took part in the seminar. The thematic meeting, which lasted about 4 hours, was initiated by well-known Polish scientists – Bogusław Śliverski, Professor at the University of Lodz and the Maria Grzegorzewska Academy of Special Education in Warsaw, Chairman of the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and Michał Paluch, PhD, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw.
A special guest at the seminar was Vasyl Melnychuk, Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland, who gave the authors his support and appreciation for the creation of a very important book of more than 700 pages. Olena Budnyk, Director of the Centre, expressed her gratitude to her Polish colleagues for the opportunity to join the authors’ board of this exceptional historical Dictionary, created in the first months of the war, and also expressed her own scientific reflections on further cooperation in this area: “The time of open wounds on the body and soul will “pass”, because “after the storm comes quietness…”, we all believe in the resilience and courage of our defenders, in the gracious Victory over the enemy; we see and radiate this light of spirituality, independence, dignity, Ukrainian identity… And, of course, the powerful support of our partners, colleagues, friends helps us; the saving words of this book motivate us…”.
