FUTURE TEACHERS HAVE COMPLETED THE STUDY OF A NEW COURSE “METHODOLOGY OF E-LEARNING IN PRIMARY SCHOOL” WITHIN THE INTERNATIONAL PROJECT EU ERASMUS + MOPED

In the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies “PNU EcoSystem” the testing of a new discipline “Methodology of e-Learning in Primary School” has been completed. It was implemented in the educational process of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University within the international project EU Erasmus + “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments – MoPED”(No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1 UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) (Developer: MoPED Academic Team Leader (PNU), Doctor of Education, Prof. Olena Budnyk). 59 full-time undergaduates and 144 part-time pedagogical students were involved in the study of the new course.

Thanks to the technological and pedagogical design of the Center, the learning process provided the possibility of an innovative class as a component of the  MoPED educational ecosystem, including students’ work in various study spaces (IT space, mobile learning space, presentation space, STEAM-lab, reflection space, conference space) using computers, tablets, SMART electronic flipchart complete with mobile stand, interactive SMART Board and others.

Student Iryna Turchyn notes: “The classes were held in a modern educational space, which is very close to the demands of the New Ukrainian School, and this motivated my classmates to work together in a creative way, despite the fact that we were studying at the university last semester. It was especially interesting for us to create educational videos and school infographics”.

Roma Vahilevych – a student who is a member of the university Commission on the Quality of Education – is convinced that the content of the course is extremely necessary, useful and modern, as a qualified teacher should not only be able to work with modern technical means of training, but also use the best European experience in using e-Learning resources when working with Primary School pupils.

Olha Lesiuk, who already has work experience in Primary School, emphasizes the importance of using such teaching tools in the educational process as: Inquiry Learning Spaces, online laboratories, educational games and simulations, short educational videos, first and foremost in the study of STEAM subjects (mathematics, informatics, design and technology, “I am exploring the World”, art) that were the subject of this course. The graduate admits using this knowledge conducting integrated lessons in Grade 3.
