On June 27, Professor Olena Budnyk and Associate Professor Kateryna Fomin took part in the international webinar Lectio Magistralis Internationalis, organized by the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland). About 100 participants from different countries (Italy, Argentina, Kenya, the USA, Brazil, Slovakia, Ukraine, Spain, etc.) were engaged in the online conference with simultaneous translation into Polish from Italian and English.
The main binary report on “Two in One Voice: in the Direction of the Pedagogy of Interreligious Dialogue” was delivered by Silvina Chemen from the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Dr. Francisco Canzani from Uruguay, who represented the Center for the Study of the Focolare Movement in Rome (Italy). The discussions focused on important theoretical aspects of the pedagogy of religion, interreligious dialogue, representatives of religion, tolerance, etc. In particular, Olena Budnyk and Kateryna Fomin touched upon the influence of religion on the resolution of armed conflicts in the world, the attitude of Ukrainian youth to religion, and the importance of interreligious dialogue pedagogy in the context of russian aggression. Certificates were given to all the participants engaged in the webinar.
