ADVANCED TRAINING OF PEDAGOGICAL STAFF

On January 15-18, the team of the Center of Innovative Educational Technologies “PNU EcoSystem” of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University conducted on-site training sessions “Digital and Media Competence of Educators” to improve the skills of pedagogical staff of pre-school, general secondary education institutions of Beloberizka United Territorial Community, Verkhovyna district, Ivano-Frankivsk region on the basis of Biloberizka Lyceum (supporting institution).

Igor Tsependa – Rector of the University, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor welcomed the educators through videoconferencing server Cisco WebEx and emphasized the importance of uniting the region’s scientific and pedagogical potential to stimulate educators’ motivation to study, improve professional development and professional competence, and increase the quality of educational services.

The event was attended by 44 educators who, in accordance with the program in an interactive form, acquired practical skills in using digital educational resources and media technologies to work at the New Ukrainian School. Galyna Mykhailyshyn, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor acquainted the participants with innovative approaches to professional development of pedagogical workers, taking into account the requirements of modern legal and regulatory support. Professor Olena Budnyk, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, presented the possibilities of using QR-codes in educational activity, their varieties and digital tools for their generation. Teachers were also interested in digital tools for formative assessment of students’ learning outcomes, including Kahoot, presented by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Tetyana Blyznyuk.

For the modern educator, it is extremely important not only to be able to implement innovations in the educational process, but also to search for scientific information from different sources, to get skills of safe interaction with information received from media sources, critical thinking, ability to understand the hidden content of a message, to resist the lure or propaganda and more. In this context, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Inna Chervinska presented methods of distinguishing manipulations and fakes in educational texts. Mykhailo Kotyk – a programming engineer of the Center, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics, Specialist in Robotics and 3D Modeling – demonstrated the pedagogical possibilities of using the Smart Board in the educational activities of the teacher and emphasized the importance of creating one’s own educational content for students.

All the participants of the event received the certificates of advanced training and showed interest in further cooperation.
