On September 26-27, academic staff of the Precarpathian National University, who represent the team of the “Center of Innovative Educational Technologies – PNU EcoSystem” took an active part in the international conference “New pedagogical approaches in STEAM education” within the framework of the EU Erasmus + project “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments” (MoPED)» (№ 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP). Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University hosted the event with about 200 participants from different countries, including Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Cyprus, and others.
Rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Viktor Ogneviuk and Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Professor Ihor Tsependa addressed to the participants of the conference with the warm welcome speeches.
Among the distinguished foreign speakers were Ton de Jong, professor, Head of the Department Instructional Technology, University of Twente, the Netherlands; Jan M. Pawlowski, Doctor, Professor of Business Information Systems, Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, Germany; Katarzyna Gdowska, AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Republic of Poland and others.
The other important speakers of the conference were: Volodymyr Bakhrushyn, Doctor of Sciences, professor, public expert in educational policy of Ukraine, member of the National team of experts on higher education reform; Svitlana Shytikova, Head of the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine; Lubov Zinyuk (Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University), coordinator of the MoPED project; Olga Dziabenko, co-coordinator of the MoPED project (Deusto University, Spain) and others.
The subject of discussion was the introduction of Innovative Teaching Methods in the Professional Training of Future Teachers of STEAM subjects; the development of their Digital Competence and Literacy; E-environment of the Modern University, Computing and Programming Basics in Primary School, improving the quality of education in the New Ukrainian School; Virtual and Augmented Reality in Education and more. The materials of the conference were published in in the electronic scientific professional journal ”Open Educational E-Environment of the Modern University” – special issue “New pedagogical approaches in STEAM education”.
