On November 7, 2nd-year students majoring in Primary Education at the Faculty of Pedagogy together with Inna Chervinska, a specialist at the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies “PNU EcoSystem”, Professor of the Department of Primary Education and Educational Innovations, took part in the All-Ukrainian Media Literacy Lesson. While studying the discipline “Primary School Media Pedagogy”, developed within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ KA2 project “Modernization of Higher Pedagogical Education with the Use of Innovative Teaching Tools – MoPED” (№586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), students develop media literacy, critical thinking, and awareness skills, taking into account modern information challenges.
The event was organized by the National Media Literacy Project “Filter” of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine and Public Broadcasting with the support of UNDP in Ukraine and funding from the Government of Japan. In the class, students learned about such important topics as dealing with fakes, protecting individuals from cyberbullying, the importance of artificial intelligence in creating educational content, and analyzing historical events. The lesson was held in the format of a team quest, so the sophomores performed interactive tasks, actively discussed the content of the stories, and analyzed the proposed photos (real and created using artificial intelligence).
