On October 24-25, Olena Budnyk, Director of the PNU EcoSystem Center, and Kateryna Fomin, Associate Professor, took part in the International Scientific Conference “Transformative Learning Through Service: A European Perspective on E-Service / Transformative Learning Through Service: A European Perspective on E-Service Learning”, which took place at the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland). The event was joined by participants from Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia), LUMSA University in Rome (Italy), University of Zagreb (Croatia), and Politehnica University of Bucharest (Romania).
In their report, ‘The Third Mission of the University in Turbulent Times: Ukraine’s Experience’, the speakers highlighted key aspects of international cooperation and the roles of educational institutions during wartime, using Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University as an example. They emphasized the importance of adapting educational programs to train specialists for emerging social challenges, conducting research aimed at public benefit, supporting the military, and addressing issues faced by local communities. Additionally, they discussed the need to assist the educational community, including universities that have been destroyed or are located on the territories occupied by russia.
