SPECIALISTS OF THE CENTER AT THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE AT PALACKÝ UNIVERSITY (CZECH REPUBLIC)

From October 2 to 3, 2025, Palacký University (Olomouc, Czech Republic) hosted the international scientific conference “Maps, Routes and Borders in Literary Culture”, organized within the framework of Erasmus+ partnership cooperation by the University of Granada (Spain), the University of Zagreb (Croatia), the University of Udine (Italy), Palacký University in Olomouc (Czech Republic), and the Moravian Library in Brno. The Center was represented by Kateryna Fomin, an expert in digital applications in teaching.

The conference brought together researchers from different countries. It provided an interdisciplinary perspective on the phenomenon of space, journeys, and borders in literary culture, combining historical, literary, art-historical, and textual approaches. Key topics included the use of maps for analysing travelogues, the topos of the journey, digital mapping, and literary cartography. These issues are especially relevant in today’s globalised and digital world, as they contribute to a deeper understanding of cultural interactions, mobility, and the formation of new narratives about space and borders.

The presentations by Associate Professors Kateryna Fomin and Tetyana Marchuk garnered significant attention from the international academic community, fostering intercultural dialogue and strengthening partnerships with universities and research centres abroad. Their participation demonstrated the high level of research achievements at Carpathian University and its active integration into the global academic space, opening new opportunities for further international collaboration and the development of research projects.
